ZE:A‘s Siwan has been confirmed as a cast member of MBC‘s new daily sitcom, ‘Standby‘!
‘Standby’ is just the tentative title for the drama, and the full line-up of actors and actresses have just completed their first script reading together. The drama itself is about a fictional broadcast network called ‘TV11‘, and follows the lives of its staff and employees. Viewers will be able to experience the lives of entertainment industry professionals such as producers, writers, and announcers as they go through love and hardships in a realistic, but comedic light.
Im Siwan’s specific role is a high school student by the same name, who not only has perfect grades, but also handsome looks and talent to boot. Having virtually everything at his will, he acts rather indifferently to everyone around him.
Siwan has been in previous drama endeavors such as MBC’s ‘The Moon That Embraces the Sun‘ and ‘The Equator Man‘. He’s certainly broadening his range of experience from historical to comedy, so the spotlight is certainly on him to see how he’ll fare.
B1A4‘s CNU (real name: Shin Dong Woo) will be stepping into the acting scene through KBS 2TV‘s new sitcom!
B2ST‘s Junhyung and INFINITE‘s L will be making a cameo appearance in SBS’s sitcom, ‘Salamander Guru’.
On the episode scheduled to be broadcast on February 10th, Junhyung and L will guest-star as members of a “flower boy” trio of thieves along with SHINee‘s Minho.
The trio worked together in the past to hack into a wealthy home’s security system in order to steal a valuable painting. Although ‘Minhyuk’ (Minho) is trying to leave those dark days behind him, ‘Joker’ (Junhyung) and ‘L’ (L) are still living out their lives as thieves.
The two seek out Minho to collaborate with them once more. While Junhyung pins Minho to the ground and demands his cooperation, L, a gangster, easily handles those who try to come to Minho’s defense. As a result, the “flower boy” trio will embark on another mission to steal another valuable painting along with the ugly salamander gurus.
The officials at Cube Entertainment have been keeping their lips sealed on the agency’s upcoming seven-member boy band, but fans are getting a sneak peek at the young men’s talent through a televised sitcom performance.
It was reported back in December that five members of the group would be part of the jTBC sitcom, ‘I Live in Cheongdam-Dong‘. The young men take on the roles of an aspiring boy group mentored by Jo Kwan Woo, also working toward a debut in the show. The young men put together a performance in the 35th episode that showed off the idols’ skills.
An official had previously explained that Cube’s new group would be skilled in vocals, rapping and dance. Though the young men haven’t actually debuted in the real world yet, their sitcom characters’ performance gives us a first-ever look at these talents.

Rookie actor Park Min Woo from tvN‘s ‘Flower Boy Ramyun Shop‘ has been cast in KBS 2TV‘s upcoming sitcom, ‘I Need a Nice Girl‘.
Park Min Woo shot to fame through his role as ‘Ba Wool‘, the loveable yet naive high schooler on ‘Flower Boy Ramyun Shop’. Building off of his success, he’ll now be playing the role of Cha In Pyo‘s privileged, yet untalented son. Going behind his father’s back, he’ll audition for acting roles despite failing each one due to his lack of skills.
The actor stated, “It’s an honor to work with such great seniors. I hope to learn a lot and show much more through this drama.”
The sitcom will begin airing on February 2012.

Minho will be playing the role of Minhyuk, a genius hacker, alongside actors Im Won Hee and Oh Dal Soo.
A source revealed, “Minho has begun acting preparations by enrolling in the staff cafe and such… He will help lead the story along as a hacker who manipulates the two robbers, played by Im Won Hee and Oh Dal Soo.”
Minho has ventured into acting before with the KBS drama special ‘Pianist’. He played the role of a 20 year old piano genius who became involved in a romantic relationship with Han Ji Hye‘s character, earning much praise for his stable acting ability.

The 120-episode sitcom will also see acting from Lee Soo Kyung, Yoo In Young, Cha Hwa Yeon, Lee Hwi Hyang, and Kang Nam Gil. Oh Won Bin will act as a high school graduate and wannabe singer who has an optimistic mind, despite suffering through many hardships as he moves to Seoul.

Oh Won Bin stated, “I will show my acting through the musical and the sitcom, ‘I Go Crazy Because of You’. Although I am very nervous, I will practice hard. I will work hard to show good acting.”
