Super Junior‘s Leeteuk has revealed that he will continue to use his cell phone number that he revealed on April Fools’ Day.
Super Junior Leeteuk revealed his actual phone number on Twitter earlier today as an event to celebrate April Fools’ Day with fans.
As a result, his phone broke down because of the massive amount of phone calls and messages it received at the same time.
SM Entertainment’s representatives stated about this, “Leeteuk’s Twitter account didn’t get hacked. The phone number he posted was his real phone number.” They continued by saying, “It looks like he wanted to play with fans and did this for April Fools’ Day. Since he got a lot of calls, his phone froze and broke down.”
Earlier today, Super Junior’s leader Leeteuk tweeted to fans, “010-4460-1117 is the popular celebrity Leeteuk’s real phone number. It’s 100% real. Please don’t be fooled by false phone numbers from now on, you can get in touch with me through this number.”
In a day and age when idol groups no longer take hiatuses, why does it seem like we hardly ever see them on stage? Well, we took a look into it and found out that it was due to the idol groups taking their performances to the global stage instead of just focusing on their activities in Korea.
Big Bang, Super Junior, B2ST and other idol groups all have very busy schedules and are performing in venues faraway from Korean fans. Moreover, these idol groups are leading the way in the global K-Pop craze, holding their aptly named ‘World Tours’ and meeting with fans all over the world.
Big Bang, who successfully completed its Seoul concert from March 2-4, will head to Japan next in the first half of this year. Then in the second half, the group will head to Southeast Asia, Europe, the United States and South America, making an appearance in 25 cities in 16 different countries on its world tour. Although Big Bang wasn’t able to carry out many activities last year due to various complications, this coming year is expected to be extra special for the group.
Korea Investment & Securities analyst Kim Shi Woo said, “Big Bang will hold its world tour this year and there’s much more to it than just seeing an increase in its concert revenue. Thanks to the joint venture with America’s number one concert agency Live Nation, this has become a great opportunity for Korean artists to showcase their musical talents [in the U.S. market]. Big Bang’s selection was most likely due to the group’s strong odds to find success in the international music scene. And since the revenue will be distributed between YG Entertainment and Live Nation, there’s a good chance Big Bang will make a profit in Japan and in the other countries as well.”
Rumors of Super Junior‘s Hankyung (28) dating a Chinese actress named Jiang Kai Tong (23) have been spreading like wildfire.
Speculations arose after February 12th, when a Chinese netizen posted on their Weibo (a Chinese SNS service), “Hankyung has left for the Maldives with Jiang Kai Tong and her parents.”
The netizen also posted a snapshot as evidence and wrote, “This is a photo that shows Hankyung leaving the airport to head off to Maldives.”
Later, another netizen claimed, “On the night of February 4th, I saw Hankyung buying a ticket at a movie theater in Mudanjiang.” Remembering that Jiang Kai Tong had posted pictures on her Weibo on February 1st that indicated that she was in Mudanjiang, netizens commented, “Maybe he was on a date with Jiang Kai Tong?”
MBC‘s ‘We Got Married‘ will be advancing into China!
MBC’s Hallyu content production team revealed that the Chinese version of ‘We Got Married’ is currently in production with a tentative air date beginning in February! The program will begin with two pilot episodes, and further development will depend on its success with the viewers.
T-ara‘s Hyomin and Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun have been the first to be cast for the Chinese version of the popular variety show. Hyomin will become a couple with Chinese idol group BoBo‘s Fu Xinbo while Kyuhyun will be coupling up with actress Lou Yi Xiao.
There will be a total of three couples; the final couple will be made up of famous Chinese actors and actresses. MBC representatives revealed, “MBC and Shanghai Media Group (SMG) will be co-producing the project. If there’s a positive response to the pilot program, we’ll develop the format.”
Super Junior member Donghae was recently spotted holding hands with Son Eun Seo. This comes after the news a few weeks ago that Donghae was one of the Super Junior members being considered as part of a new couple for ‘We Got Married’.
On January 19th, an online community board featured a posting titled, “Donghae and Son Eun Seo’s Amusement Park Date.”
In the photo, Donghae and Son Eun Seo are seen on a double date at an amusement park with ‘We Got Married’s couple Leeteuk and Kang Sora. Both couples were seen holding hands regardless of the large number of onlookers.
Netizens have responded with, “I can’t believe you are already holding hands… Oppa..” , “I guess they have officially been recruited as a couple on ‘We Got Married’.“
An old photo of Girls’ Generation’s Jessica and Super Junior’s Donghae has been causing a stir.
Super Junior will be taking the stage at the famous Tokyo Dome.
On May 12th and 13th, Super Junior will be making their ‘Super Show 4‘ world tour stop in Japan at the Tokyo Dome.
Last December, Super Junior rallied 80,000 audience members through their two concerts which was held at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. Super Junior is planning to meet with 100,000 fans at their Tokyo Dome concerts.
Considering that Super Junior has not had any special promotions in Japan, being able to book a concert at the 100,000 capacity Tokyo Dome is a rather astounding accomplishment.
Perhaps a bit overdue, but SM Entertainment announced today that Super Junior has won three awards at the “2011 Mashable Awards.” They were picked as the “Must-Follow Musician on Social Media,” “Viral Video of the Year,” and “Best Mobile Game.”
Super Junior, Big Bang and SHINee are in the top ten ‘Singers You’d Like to Perform at the 2012 London Olympics’ list
On January 7th, Super Junior‘s Donghae commented on a recent The Top Tens poll that asked ‘Singers You’d Like to Perform at the 2012 London Olympics’. We’re barely into the first week of January, and already new idol groups have emerged to climb their way to stardom. F.I.X. isn’t your average boy group who rely on pretty boy looks or talented dancers to bring the spotlight — they’ve spent a long while honing their skills in both vocals and composing, and they’re also older than your average rookie.
OSEN recently caught up with F.I.X, who greeted them happily. During the course of the interview, the reporter learned that member Jung Wook (24) is actually the younger cousin of Super Junior‘s Ryeowook.
“Ryeowook hyung was more of a brother to me than a cousin,” said Jungwook. “When I told him that I would be debuting as singer, he told me to work hard and always be modest. He said to always respectfully greet everyone around me, and not worry about discouraging comments I read online. Ryeowook hyung debuted when I was a freshman in high school, but he continued to keep in touch with me and buy me food. He would listen to me when I needed someone to talk to, and always gave me all the cash in his wallet without even counting it.”
Because Jungwook and Ryeowook are cousins, fellow Super Junior member Eunhyuk volunteered to act in F.I.X’s new MV. Thanks to Eunhyuk, the boys’ MV was a big hit online.
Earlier, producers of ‘We Got Married’ revealed that four members of Super Junior went on a blind date with four actresses, and that two of them would be considered as new permanent couples for the show.
If you could, which Korean star would you go on a date with? Show Biz Korea (Arirang TV) overseas viewers voted. The Top 7 were either Super Junior members or Big Bang Members.
Photos titled “Male Idol’s Overall Appearance” have surfaced various online communities, and they have created quite a buzz among Korean netizens. An enthusiastic fan cleverly overlapped the images of the members in each boy band to create one representative photo for each group. A total of ten photos – representing Super Junior, JYJ, Big Bang, 2PM, SHINee, BEAST, MBLAQ, Infinite, UKISS, and FT Island – have been humoring netizens and fans alike.
While no one specific member comes to mind in most photos, Seungri’s face jumps out in Big Bang’s representation, while Wooyoung and Lee Hong Ki’s features are dominant in 2PM and FT Island’s photos respectively.
Those who’ve seen the photos commented, “JYJ is really handsome,” “This is why they are idols…Even their appearances blended-in look amazing,” “It must have been labor-intensive photoshopping all thirteen faces for the Super Junior photo.”
What do you think? Which boy band has the most good-looking overall face out of the photos below?
