It’s a well known fact that IU‘s been a fan of Big Bang‘s Taeyang since… forever. Today must’ve been her lucky day, as the darling idol received a heartfelt hug from her favorite star right on stage!
Big Bang joined ‘Inkigayo‘ MCs IU, Nicole, and Hara to talk about their comeback. For their interview, the three girls chose to ask fan questions to create a memorable interview. One of those questions, sent by a fan named ‘A sunflower who only looks at Taeyang‘, asked, “White Day is coming up soon, who will Taeyang gift candy to?”
Coincidentally, IU who was wearing a crown made out of tiny sunflowers, leading her fellow MCs to suspiciously ask, “Was that question really sent by a fan?”
IU denied their suspicion and told them to “be quiet”, hurrying Taeyang for a response. Taeyang chose action over words and pulled her into a cute hug that had all cameras and the envy of fans focused on her!
Interviewer: What is BIGBANG to you?
Taeyang: I got the same question before. My answer will always be the same. Big Bang is a tree and I’m just a branch. When we are together as five, we make a big tree which has many leaves and fruits.
Interviewer: You guys had a hard time last year.
Taeyang: Last year was a new beginning to us. I heard that many groups have their hard times after 5 years, last year was ours. For us, it was not because of an argument but something from the outside. On the other hand, I’m thankful. It gave us a chance of making us live longer and stronger.
Interviewer: What makes Big Bang one?
Taeyang: Music. Our characters are so different. It gives the team a fatal blow because each has a very strong personality. However, we all like music, performing on the stage, dancing and singing together. We don’t argue whatever comes to us. We are always doing music happily and that makes us one.
Interviewer: You guys are the focus of attention but attention can be changed to indifference.
Taeyang: It is true that people’s interest and love make us work harder but even if the circumstances change, we want to do music together. I really love being on the stage. I want to tell you to just watch us grow up, especially this year. Love our music once again. I don’t mean that buy our albums but rather watch our development, our growth.

Mandu used to be a professional choreographer and at one point trained Tae Yang. Mandy stated, “Tae Yang and I stood on stage as singer and dancer. It’s unbelievable that we’ll both be on stage as singers. I’ll have to work very hard to make sure I don’t embarrass myself next to Tae Yang.”
Kang Han used to be a member of SM in the past and knew the members of Shin Hwa. He stated, “I used to practice with members of Shin Hwa in SM together. It’ll be such an honor to be able to perform on the same stage. I want to make them proud.”

Big Bang member Daesung appeared on a variety show after a long while away.

Those who set out as the judges next to Yang Hyun Suk were 2NE1′s Park Bom & CL, and Big Bang’s Taeyang & Daesung. After the car accident last year, Daesung had been taking time for introspection. Taeyang expressed, “As a friend, I was upset about what happened to Jiyong. Jiyong will always be a friend that is closer than family to me. Even if worse things were to happen, I’ll never be able to let go of his hand. I believe that this goes the same for Jiyong. To me, Jiyong is a friend that I’ll be with forever.”
In October, a Twitter post that he had made became the source of controversy once G-Dragon’s marijuana case broke out. For the first time, he opened up by stating, “What I wrote had nothing to do with Jiyong at all. It was just my thoughts on the world. On November 15th, rapper Tablo expressed his thoughts on the welcoming atmosphere of his new agency, YG Entertainment.
Tablo guested on a special episode of KBS Joy’s “Lee Sora’s Second Project” this week, where he revealed, “My wife Kang Hye Jung is signed under YG. In a sense, they’re like my real family. There is a huge difference between the surface image of YG and what it’s really like on the inside.”
He continued, “From the outside, there was a sense of coldness because all the artists have so much charisma. I thought it’d be hard to approach them, but they’re all actually very warm and fun. I’m the maknae right now, but YG has been so good to me that I’m adjusting well.”
During the show, Tablo also performed numerous tracks including “Tomorrow” alongside Big Bang‘s Taeyang.

Event: Korean Culture Art Awards
Venue: Olympic Hall, Olympic Park
Date and Time: November 21st, 2011 – 6PM
Sponsored by: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism & KBS
Performers: Taeyang (BIGBANG), SNSD, Wonder Girls, B2ST, After School and more
Last year, Taeyang also attended the event and accepted an award for BIGBANG’s contribution to Korean pop culture.
This year, Lee Soo-man (SM Ent), Shin Young-kyun, singer Ha Chun-hwa, musician Shin Jung-hyun, TV writer Yu Ho and voice-over actor Oh Seung-ryong will be awarded with Korean Culture Art Award medals. Park Jin Young (JYP), Yang Hyun Suk (YG), Lee Byung Hun, SNSD, B2ST, CNBlue and other idol groups will also be receiving special citations.
Were you able to have great musicians feature in your album because you already knew them or did you also receive help from your new agency YG Entertainment?
Tablo: Other than Taeyang, I worked with everyone else in no relation to YG. In the case of Naul, I asked him because I knew him from rapping for one of his songs to his Brown Eyed Soul albums and I asked everyone else as well strictly in a professional way. That they should make a judgement based on the guide song and lyrics. And that they shouldn’t feel any pressure because they don’t need to if they don’t think it’s right for them. Even with Taeyang, I’d asked him through Hye-jung before because I’d wanted to work with him since a long time ago. Although before it was for a different song and after deciding to work with him this time around, I made “Tomorrow” with the thought that I’d like him to do something that he’d have more fun singing.
On Lee Sora’s 2nd Proposal where Taeyang and Tablo were guests, Taeyang revealed, “Tablo hyung, I really envy you.”
On the show, Taeyang revealed that he was jealous of Tablo because of a text Tablo got from Yang Hun Suk. When Tablo’s new album got the 1st spot on iTunes’ Hip-Hop chart, Yang sent him a cute emoticon. Taeyang continued, “I still haven’t received any emoticons from Yang Hyun Suk. I envy him.”
This episode of Lee Sora’s 2nd Proposal will be on broadcast on the 15th at 12:10 AM.

Q: How did you end up featuring in Part 2’s title song “Tomorrow”?
TY: This song was recorded the first day Tablo-hyung came to YG. He let me listen to the song and suggested that it would be great if I featured on it. And I liked the song so much that we began recording immediately that day.
Q: Have you always been acquainted with Tablo?
TY: This was the first time working on music together, but I was aware that he had talked about me on broadcasts now and then when he was with Epik High. And I really like Epik High, too. I’m really happy that we’re in the same company now.
Q: Can you briefly introduce the meaning of the song ‘Tomorrow”?
TY: “Tomorrow” is about mourning the break up with a lover, saying “there is no tomorrow” until she returns. Being unable to move on from that moment and space, waiting for her to return.
Taeyang: 여러분 덕분에 EMA에 갈수있게되었네요.. 늘 받기만하는사랑에미안한마음뿐입니다..너무 감사합니다:)
Thanks everyone, we’ll be able to attend the EMA. I’m sorry that we always just receive your love.. Thanks so much:)
‘Tomorrow’ will be released on 1st November.
Big Bang’s Taeyang and 4minute’s HyunA were picked as “the Next Rain and Hyori” by other idol singers in this week’s MBC Everyone’s “Weekly Idol.” The survey asked a group of real-life idols to pick “five idol singers with the most potential to follow in the success of Rain and Hyori” and the most votes were given to Taeyang and HyunA, who beat out the likes of BEAST’s Lee Gi Kwang, Jay Park, SNSD’s Yuri, and G.NA. MBC Everyone’s “Weekly Idol” has been garnering a lot of attention lately for this segment called “Real Chart! Idol’s Self-Ranking,” where current idol singers participate in various surveys. This week’s survey sparked more interest for the topic’s sensitivity and currency, as Rain just enlisted in the army last week and Hyori has been spending more time on show-hosting roles.
