U-KISS reveals teaser image for their new mini-album, ‘DORADORA’

With the release of their new album just days away, idol group U-KISS has revealed a new teaser image.

On April 19th, the group’s label NH Media announced U-KISS’ comeback via their official Facebook and Twitter pages by sharing the the main image of the boys 6th mini-album, ‘DORADORA‘.

Fans were surprised upon seeing the image, as the boys’ new doll-like appearance is completely different from the fierce and masculine look they have displayed until now.

What drew attention is the way the boys’ unique fashion style made them look unified as a group, but each member was able to still bring out his own individuality and charm.

U-KISS selected as #1 Hallyu group to watch out for in Japan

Boy band U-KISS has been selected as the #1 Hallyu group to watch out for in Japan this year.

Major Japanese portal site ‘Zapallas‘ conducted a survey asking users who they thought would be ’2012′s Greatest Hallyu star in Japan’. U-KISS member Kevin secured the #1 spot under the ‘Hallyu star’ category, while the group as a whole came in at #1 under the ‘group’ category.

100 famous Japanese fortune tellers also took part in the survey, making their decisions based on astrological signs, blood types, as well as 574 other ways to determine fortune for the new year. Taking into consideration that a drama series and a movie is being considered to be made about the boys in both Korea and Japan, the participants felt that U-KISS would be able to further make a name for themselves in Japan.

On top of speaking Korean, the U-KISS members also speak English, Japanese, as well as Chinese, and the boys have made their faces known by speaking English on global programs that aired overseas. This year, the boys are determined to succeed in Japan as well as deliver solid performances in Korea in order to rise to the top.

Which Boy Band Is the Most Good-Looking?

Photos titled “Male Idol’s Overall Appearance” have surfaced various online communities, and they have created quite a buzz among Korean netizens.  An enthusiastic fan cleverly overlapped the images of the members in each boy band to create one representative photo for each group. A total of ten photos – representing Super Junior, JYJ, Big Bang, 2PM, SHINee, BEAST, MBLAQ, Infinite, UKISS, and FT Island – have been humoring netizens and fans alike.

While no one specific member comes to mind in most photos, Seungri’s face jumps out in Big Bang’s representation, while Wooyoung and Lee Hong Ki’s features are dominant in 2PM and FT Island’s photos respectively.

Those who’ve seen the photos commented, “JYJ is really handsome,” “This is why they are idols…Even their  appearances blended-in look amazing,” “It must have been labor-intensive photoshopping all thirteen faces for the Super Junior photo.”

U-KISS and Rainbow win the ‘Most Photogenic of the Year’ award

Rainbow and U-KISS (among many others) have been dubbed as the ‘Most Photogenic of the Year‘!

On December 29th, the Korea Broadcasting Camera Directors Association will be holding the ‘12th Korean Video Daejun‘. One of the categories will honor the most photogenic stars of the year in various areas of the entertainment industry.

The awards ceremony brings together camera directors that work at KBS, MBC, SBS, EBS, and OBS, asking them to choose who they think had the best features (as caught on camera).

U-KISS talks about their “embarrassing debut concept”

On December 20th, U-KISS revealed their true feelings about their debut through the MBN story-cumentary (story documentary), ‘My Story‘.

When asked about their first album’s title track, “I’m Not Young“, Dongho confessed, “The song itself is okay, but I get so embarrassed when I look back on our performances and music video that I don’t know what to do with my hands. Still, it helps me feel like I’ve truly grown since then.”

Leader Soohyun stated, We’ve been coming out with masculine, sexy images lately, but back then, we were just cute. They always told us to act cute and laugh where necessary so looking at it now, I really can’t bear it. It gives me goosebumps.”

The boys also admitted that their debut concept didn’t sit so well with the public, leading to a fretful year of identity changes.

U-Kiss reveals covers for Japanese debut single “Tick Tack”

U-Kiss‘s official Japanese website revealed the covers and contents for the group’s debut Japanese single, “Tick Tack”, earlier this week.

Beginning with the CD version, which will include two tracks and its instrumentals; a CD+DVD and Mumo version will also be released. The limited version of the CD only release includes a bonus track, “0330-Piano & Chorus ver.-“.

The CD+DVD version includes an extra DVD with the track’s music video, as well as a making of in the CD+DVD limited release. “Tick Tack”‘s Mumo version will only include the main two tracks, but will have an original Mumo cover. Mumo’s limited release will included one out of seven autographed cards.

It was also revealed that next to the regular and CD+DVD version, “Tick Tack” will also be released in a Mumo Version as well as a Tower Records Version. All 4 different releases have their own covers.

U-Kiss’s debut single “Tick Tack” will be released on December 14th. The collaboration of members Eli and Kevin with Japanese singer JAMOSA will be revealed on week earlier, on December 7th.
