Solo singer Tim is looking to join the ranks of Hallyu stars as an actor.
It has recently been revealed that Tim has been cast in a lead role for a Korean-Indonesian joint drama ‘Saranghae, I love you.’ The drama, which portrays the love story of a couple and falls under the romantic fantasy genre, is set in both South Korea and Indonesia and shows a love that blossoms between the two different cultures.
The drama, which was written, and will be produced by Indonesian director NOTO, will total 30 episodes. The drama will air this July on Indonesia’s biggest channel at 9 PM, and will be broadcast throughout all of Indonesia.
Tim will be playing the role of a top Korean singer named Young Min, and his co-star is said to be a popular Indonesian actress. The synopsis of the drama is that Young Min goes to Indonesia to clear up a misunderstanding his father has regarding Young Min’s mother, and the different events that happen while he is there.

The members of K-Pop Fans Kuwait seem a little blue. The angsty poem attached to their tower of fan rice at the kickoff of Big Bang’s world tour in Seoul was a bit of a downer for a pop show. The fan rice paid for by a club in Indonesia, on the other hand, was more in the spirit of things, adorned with a message to the band that could even double as a tourism slogan: “DON’T THINK TOO MUCH. JUST COME TO INDONESIA.”
What’s a fan rice tower? What’s Big Bang? I asked the very same things when I arrived in South Korea last week and attended my first K-pop concert in Seoul’s Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium. Fan rice is pretty much what it sounds like: rice, from fans. As a way to show their devotion, fans of Korean pop music — or K-pop — buy bags of rice and donate it to their favorite bands, who, in turn, donate the rice to a charitable cause.
In a linoleum hallway in the Seoul stadium, stacks of rice bags festooned with ribbons and signs boasting how many kilograms each club purchased (100kg, 500kg, 1000kg) were lined up like shrines to the K-pop gods that were about to go on stage: T.O.P., G-Dragon, etc. Big Bang is one of the biggest acts on the K-pop roster. For their first show in months, 12.7 tons of rice were donated from 50 fan clubs around the world.
How do I know this? Because there are entire businesses dedicated to making sure the rice gets there. Seung-gu Roh, whose staff took two days to build all the rice bag towers on display for the Big Bang show, got into this industry when fans just bought bouquet towers for the bands. (Passé.) Now he was 24 offices around the country helping source and ship rice from South Korean farmers to venues. For the last five years, his sales have grown 100% every year, though he still insists its not a particularly profitable venture. “I’m not making anything off this,” Roh says. “I just do it because it’s a good thing.”
Hallyu actress Choi Ji Woo and 2PM‘s Taecyeon were seen together in Indonesia.
On February 6th, the above photo was posted on an online community board with the title, “Taecyeon and Choi Ji Woo, strangely they look good together“.
The two were in Indonesia as ambassadors for the grand opening of a Lotte Duty Free Shop at the Soekarno-Hatta airport.
The contrast between Ji Woo’s bright red dress and Taecyeon’s black suit accentuated the beauty of the two as they looked like a couple. With both their tall height and slender frames, the two stars looked like mannequins posing in front of the store.
Earlier, B.A.P. revealed that they would be starring in SBS MTV’s reality program, ‘Ta-Dah, It’s B.A.P.’.
The group has just shared some additional great news — ‘Ta-Dah, It’s B.A.P.’ will be broadcast through local MTV channels in China, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore!
The level of anticipation is high for their reality show, since Big Bang set the precedent for such programs with ‘Big Bang the Beginning’. It’s rare for a rookie group to be given such love prior to their debut, and it’s only likely to increase as the days narrow down to B.A.P.’s debut later on this month.
As previously revealed, the reality program will take on a different format, as the boys will play the role of aliens from another planet who are working to become stars and take over the world. SECRET‘s Hyosung will be making a surprise appearance as the deliverer of missions.
FNC Music stunned thousands of expectant fans by announcing the cancellation of CN BLUE‘s solo concert, “BLUE STORM in Indonesia“.
“The [BLUE STORM] in Indonesia concert, scheduled for November 26th, has been cancelled,” the company revealed through CN BLUE’s official website.
“This is a problem stemming from our lack of trust with the local Indonesian organizers of the event, thanks to shoddy event planning and failing to live up to their contract.”
“Although we tried to make several requests about the promotions and the concert, they never replied to our requests which aided our decision to cancel the event,” FNC Music said.
