Internet sensations Sungha Jung and Megan Lee want to work with YG Family

They may seem as different as chalk and cheese, but Korean-American singer Megan Lee and Korean self-taught guitarist Sungha Jung have more than just their love for music in common.

For one, both shot to fame after their videos on video-sharing platform YouTube went viral.

Megan and Sungha were the opening acts for the MFW 2012 yesterday, performing three covers, which included Adele’s Someone Like You and Korean singer Narsha’s I’m In Love.

The duo also shared common interests in their favorite singers — all of whom are from Korean entertainment company YG Entertainment — which should not come as a surprise.

Yang Hyun Suk explains ‘Why YG Artists avoid TV Appearances’!

YG Entertainment was in the spotlight for being selective against certain TV shows or channels. It was revealed that YG artists were focusing on appearances on SBS channel only.

Regarding the criticism YG Entertainment has received, Yang Hyun Suk stated, “If stars schedule appearances as much as they are requested, they might be scheduled for way too many appearances. Not only do the stars get exhausted but their back dancers, stylist, manager and all the staff become exhausted. And it’s not like they can appear on each event looking the same way. They have to look unique and different for each appearance. Sometimes when stars appear on too many shows, they begin to look the same in each appearance, which is a problem.”

And “Instead of scheduling as many events possible, we decided to choose and focus on the shows that the artist will be appearing in. We’re trying to schedule about two appearances per week for the stars. For the stars to perform in their best condition, they need to maintain their strength but if they get overwhelmed, they won’t be able to show perfect performances. Even if I get criticized, it just has to be done this way for the artists.”

Even though Yang Hyun Suk is being criticized for being selective against certain shows, he explains that it is for the best. He will not overwhelm and exhaust the stars by over scheduling them. Instead, Yang Hyun Suk wants his stars to perform at their 100% to show their fans a perfect performance.

Big Bang member T.O.P’s sexy wave dance drives fans wild

Big Bang‘s T.O.P drove his fans crazy after doing a ‘wave’ dance that completely contradicts his mysterious and charismatic image.

T.O.P, along with his fellow Big Bang members G-Dragon, Daesung, Taeyang, and Seungri performed labelmate 2NE1‘s “I Am The Best” for ’YG Family 15th Anniversary Concert‘, which is currently taking place in Japan.

Dressed in all black, the members flawlessly performed both the solo and group dances that are an essential part of the “I Am The Best” performance. What drove the audience especially wild, however, was handsome rapper T.O.P’s sexy wave dance that showcased his silly and playful side.

Netizens who saw the footage responded with comments such as, I want to see the actual video, not a fan cam“, “I want to see the Japanese fans’ reactions“, and more.

Kim Eun Bi in particular has been gaining a lot of attention after news got out that she will be debuting in YG’s upcoming girl group. Similarly, Kang Seung Yoon is becoming a rising star after he started acting in MBC‘s popular sitcom, ‘High Kick 3‘.

Despite their contract with YG Entertainment, Kang Seung Yoon and Kim Eun Bi have yet to release any official albums. Fans were expecting to see the two rookies at the concert, however, because of their prior experience on ‘Superstar K2′.

Jinusean to perform at the ‘YG Family Concert’ for what may be the last time

Jinusean, one of YG Entertainment‘s first artists, will be participating in the upcoming ’15th Anniversary YG Family Concert’. It’ll be their first performance in four years since 2007′s ‘YG One Concert’.

Jinusean has been active behind-the-scene by taking on various duties for the company, while supporting their hoobae artists. Since this year’s ‘YG Family Concert’ is a special event commemorating the 15th year of YG Entertainment’s establishment, Jinusean decided to dust off their mics and perform on stage once again.

It’s been rumored that their hoobaes (such as Se7en, Big Bang, and 2NE1) actively pleaded the duo to perform. Jinusean politely refused until CEO Yang Hyun Suk himself stepped up to persuade them.

YG Entertainment stated, “Seeing as how difficult it was to persuade them, this may really be Jinusean’s last performance. They will put on a special performance to collaborate with their hoobae artists, as well as showcase their own stage, fit for the oldest group from YG.”
