“Beyond the One Day: Story of 2PM & 2AM” Releases Teaser Video

The teaser video for 2PM and 2AM’s documentary film, “Beyond the One Day: Story of 2PM & 2AM,” was released on April 13. The one-minute video shows footage of the two groups’ concerts and short individual interview clips of each member. At one point, Taecyeon and Seulong are quoted as saying, “It’s a fun life that makes you feel, ‘This is the only way I can live,’” giving fans a feel for what the documentary film will entail.

Big Bang, JYJ, 2PM, and more take over the advertisement market with ‘CM songs’

Simply landing CF deals doesn’t seem to be enough for idols on their quest for world domination, as even singing ‘CM songs’ is now a required must for the hottest idol stars.

With the K-Pop boom being felt all over the world, the influence of idols has definitely reached new heights. Their names are regularly seen on everything from internet portals, variety shows, dramas, and endorsement deals, so it’s no wonder the advertisement industry is eagerly making full use of their potential.

CM songs, or theme songs for CFs and endorsements, has become an easy and effective way to increase marketing power for brands, as songs sung by idols will easily land at the top of music charts and earn an explosive response from consumers. Previously, bands like Big Bang, Girls’ Generation, JYJ, KARA, 2PM, and T-ara all have experience with hit CM songs under their belts.

Perhaps the strongest in the area is Big Bang thanks to their hits like “Stylish” for ‘Fila’, “So Fresh, So Cool” for ‘Hite Beer‘, and “Lollipop” for ‘LG Cyon’. Just these three tracks alone recorded over $883,978 USD in profits.

Big Bang and 2NE1 voted top K-pop stars in France

Big Bang and 2NE1 have been selected as the male and female groups most loved by the Hallyu fans in France.

The Paris office of Korean Tourism Organization has conducted ‘A survey to identify the status and distribution of Hallyu wave in France and the behavior of the Hallyu fans’ targeting 3,775 of local Hallyu fans. Big Bang and 2NE1 have each received 49.9% and 64.8% support coming in at #1.

The age range and gender of the fans who prefer 2NE1 and Big Bang were different. Big Bang was relatively highly preferred by male fans of Hallyu in France. As far a the age goes, Hallyu fans in their early 20′s seemed to prefer Big Bang. 2NE1 enjoyed most support of the Hallyu fans who are teenagers and those in their early 20′s and there was no significant difference between the genders.

The male group to rank #2 following Big Bang was Super Junior, then followed SHINee, B2ST, then 2PM. SNSD ranked #2 among female groups, followed by Miss A, f(x), then T-ara.

KARA, Girls’ Generation, 2PM, 2NE1, SHINee, and CNBLUE receive nominations for MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2012

Some of the top Kpop stars have received nominations at the MTV VMAJ 2012 (Video Music Awards Japan 2012).

On March 19th, MTV Japan revealed the nominees for the MTV VMAJ 2012 (Video Music Awards Japan 2012). KARA, Girls’ Generation, 2PM, 2NE1, SHINee, and CNBLUE all received nominations in various categories.

In the “Best Group Video” category, 2PM received a nomination for “I’m Your Man“.

In the “Best New Artist Video” category, CNBLUE received a nomination for “In My Head” along with 2NE1 with “I AM THE BEST“.

miss A’s Suzy receives kisses from 2PM’s Taecyeon & actor Kim Soohyun

Images of miss A member Suzy receiving kisses from 2PM‘s Taecyeon and actor Kim Soohyun have surfaced online.

The above photos as well as a video were shared on an online community site with the the title, ‘Kim Soohyun & Ok Taecyeon giving Suzy kisses‘.

The video was footage from the ‘Dream High‘ season 1 poster photo shoot that took place last year, featuring the main characters Suzy, Taecyeon, and Soohyun, and was recently posted, drawing attention.

Suzy played the role of Go Hyemi, the girl that caused a love triangle between Song Sam Dong (Kim Soo Hyun) & Jin Gook (Taecyeon), and the photo shoot pictorial expressed their complicated relationship.

2PM’s Taecyeon and Choi Ji Woo attend Lotte Duty Free grand opening in Indonesia

Hallyu actress Choi Ji Woo and 2PM‘s Taecyeon were seen together in Indonesia.

On February 6th, the above photo was posted on an online community board with the title, “Taecyeon and Choi Ji Woo, strangely they look good together“.

The two were in Indonesia as ambassadors for the grand opening of a Lotte Duty Free Shop at the Soekarno-Hatta airport.

The contrast between Ji Woo’s bright red dress and Taecyeon’s black suit accentuated the beauty of the two as they looked like a couple. With both their tall height and slender frames, the two stars looked like mannequins posing in front of the store.

‘Republic of 2PM’ released in Korea

2PM’s first official Japanese album, ‘Republic of 2PM’, has also been released in Korea.

Last November 30th, 2PM released their first Japanese album and began their Arena Tour in Japan, experiencing much popularity all over the country. The album has received much positive response since it’s release in Korea on January 18th as well.  Netizens responded, I can feel a new side to 2PM, and Finally they released it in Korea.”

‘Republic of 2PM’, the first official Japanese album by the group, showcases their mature, and refined side. A total of 12 of their Japanese version hit songs, including the song composed by member Junsu, are included on the album.

JYP Entertainment stated, 2PM had their first show case in December 2010, and it has been a year since they debuted in Japan. The first official album is filled with hard work and dedication, and includes songs that 2PM promoted in Japan and the singles they released in the past year. ” They continued, “We hope many people enjoy 2PM’s music and will continue to support and love the always hard working 2PM.

Oricon Includes 2PM and JYP Nation’s Concerts as the Best of 2011

On January 6, Yahoo News Japan published a list made by Oricon, of the twelve most impressive concerts of 2011. The 2PM Arena Tour and the JYP Nation in Japan 2011 were included in the list.

These twelve concerts were chosen by Oricon’s Chief Editor who had the opportunity to assist to 124 events all along 2011. Among the names of Japanese artists such as EGO-WRAPPIN or Uverworld, the names of Korean concerts of 2PM and JYP Nation, stand out as he described them as: “Impressive and fantastic concerts with beautiful dances all along.”

He described both concerts separately as well. He declared: “JYP NATION in Japan 2011 at the Saitama Super Arena, I was fascinated by the producer. J.Y. Park’s performance… Each artist has a great potential and not just while singing. I enjoyed their collaborations and their dances. I felt that I was seeing one of the best entertainment shows. To be honest, at that moment i just listened to songs of 2PM and 2AM, but I was so into the concert that the three hours and a half passed by really quick. “What’s next?” I just enjoyed the whole concert.”

Regarding 2PM’s concert he mentioned: “2PM ARENA TOUR 2011 “REPUBLIC OF 2PM” at the Nihon Budokan, the great dance movements, the catchy melodies of every song and the stage prepared for the arena. Everything was impressive. Beauty, fierce, coolness. Every man in 2PM has his own character and I loved them all. They continue gaining fans in Japan, as we can see for their added dates to their concert. I’m sure that in 2012, they will climb even higher from where they are now.”

2PM’s Nichkhun gains a wax doppelganger at Madame Tussards

2PM’s Nichkhun will now be standing shoulder-to-shoulder with famous celebrities from all over the world —  or at least, his wax doppelganger will.

On December 16th, representatives of JYP Entertainment revealed, “The wax figure of 2PM’s Nichkhun has been on display at the Madame Tussauds in Bangkok since November 29th.”

Madame Tussards is known as a popular tourist attraction with bevy of star-studded wax figures, such as Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Obama, and George Clooney. The wax figures are so detailed that each cost about $150,000 USD to produce.

Nichkhun received the honor of being the second Hallyu star to be included in the exhibit; the first was actor Bae Yong Joon, whose wax figure is on display in Hong Kong. Nichkhun visited Bangkok on December 7th to participate in his wax figure production and was joined by hundreds of fans waiting to see the progress.

SNSD’s Jessica addresses dating rumors with Taecyeon

SNSD‘s Jessica honestly opened up about the dating rumors between herself and 2PM‘s Taecyeon.

The November 9th episode of MBCGolden Fishery Radio Star‘ was a ‘Musical Star’ special, and stars like Park Hyemi, Lim Tae Kyung, and SNSD‘s Jessica, Taeyeon, and Tiffany guest-starred on the episode.

The MCs questioned Jessica about her relationship with 2PM’s Taecyeon, as they have been frequently spotted together throughout the city.

In regards to the paparazzi photos she said, We’re just friends. He’s a very close oppa of mine.”

2PM & miss A’s interactive movie ‘Hello’ revealed online

The interactive movie ‘Hello‘ starring 2PM and miss A has finally been revealed via Korea Tourism Organization‘s website, www.ibuzzkorea.com.

In the video, the viewer becomes the main character and goes on a vacation to Korea for three days with the idol stars. The video highlights some of Korea’s most beautiful landmarks and the OST “Hello” was created specifically for this project.

In the online version, the viewer can decide in the beginning if they want to ‘travel’ to Korea with 2PM or miss A, and upload their own photos onto the site to ‘take’ their own photos with the stars.

The Korea Tourism Organization created the interactive movie as a part of a campaign to bring more tourism to Korea, and the video can easily be shared via social networking services such as Facebook, Renren, etc.

2PM adds two more dates to their Japanese tour

After achieving success in Korea with their latest Korean album, “Hands Up,” 2PM will be shifting their focus to Japan, with their first Japanese album, “REPUBLIC OF 2PM,” scheduled to be released on November 30th. In order to promote the release of the album, 2PM was scheduled to hold five concerts around Japan in December. However, due to the positive feedback received from fans, the group has decided to add two more dates to the tour!

2PM’s rising success in Japan & Asia

Idol group 2PM is stirring the hearts of ladies all across Asia! With members Taecyeon and Chansung recently being cast in Japanese dramas and their current Asia tour, the boys are receiving explosive reactions from fans throughout the continent. Their Taiwan show that took place on the 7th and 8th gathered over 10,000 fans, and tickets to their next performance in Indonesia sold out 15 minutes after going on sale.

The 10,000 fans that were at their ‘2PM Hands Up Tour Concert‘ screamed the name, 2PM at the top of their lungs, and the foreign fans sang along with each of the Korean songs. Many fans even shed tears at the sight of their favorite K-pop idol group. Their Indonesia show is scheduled to take place next month at the largest venue in Jakarta, Indonesia. Additionally, 2PM’s agency JYP Entertainment stated that Singapore and Malaysia as well as Indonesia are highly anticipating the boys’ arrival.

The boys’ fame in Japan, however, is on a completely different level. 2PM guest-stars on various programs on Japanese television including music programs, dramas, variety shows, and more. Chansung has been cast in the new Japanese TBS drama ‘Phantom Thief Royale‘ that will begin airing on the 28th. He is the second member to appear on a Japanese drama after Taecyeon, who was cast in ‘My 99 Days with a Star‘ with actress Kim Tae Hee.

‘Phantom Thief Royale’ tells the story of 4 young people whose missions are to steal high-prized possessions, and the things that happen along the way. Chansung plays the role of athletic and physically fit Jack.

2PM’s Taecyeon stressed about school

On the 20th, 2PM‘s Taecyeon revealed that he was feeling a bit stressed by tweeting, Ahh marketing midterm… I feel like I’m growing white hairs on my head.

Taec is currently enrolled in Dangook University and studying business. The idol star took a break in order to focus on promoting with 2PM, however, he put his focus on school when he found the time. Photos of Taecyeon in class have surfaced on the internet recently and received a lot of attention.

Netizens who read his tweet commented, I failed this midterm too… let’s encourage one another“, “I just tweeted the same thing“, and “I guess when it comes to exams, idols are no exception.”

Meanwhile, 2PM just concluded their first performance of their Asia Tour, and will be heading to Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.

2PM to release first Japanese full length album “REPUBLIC OF 2PM” on November 30th

JYP Entertainment group 2PM is set on releasing their first ever Japanese full length album, “REPUBLIC OF 2PM“, next month. The album is said to include 12 Japanese tracks, consisting of previously released singles as well as unreleased songs and tracks composed by 2PM member Junsu.

Apart from its 12 tracks, the album will be available in three different versions including a regular version and two different limited editions. While the regular edition is just the CD with the 12 tracks, the limited editions have extra DVDs. Limited edition Type A comes with a “1st Contact in Japan” documentary which will last about 50 to 60 minutes; a 60 page concept photobook, a deluxe box and an ID number for future use in 2PM events. Type B includes a 100 page concept photobook with an extra DVD including MV behind-the-scenes, as well as Jacket shooting footage.

“REPUBLIC OF 2PM” will be released on November 30th.

2PM continues its sell-out streak on Asia tour

Asia’s top performance boy group, ‘beast-dol’ 2PM is hitting Asia with an explosive impact everywhere they land on their “2PM Hands Up Tour Concert”.

Beginning their tour in Seoul on September 2nd, 2PM continued on to Taiwan for back-to-back concerts on October 7th and 8th, filling the concert hall with fans on both dates. It was reported that the members of 2PM could not hide their excitement after their first Asia tour concert as they experienced first-hand the love from their international fans.

The next concert in their tour schedule is on November 11th in Indonesia at Mangga Dua Square–Jakarta’s biggest venue; the tickets for the concert sold out in 15 minutes as it first went on sale on September 24th. In addition, it is reported that fans in Singapore and Malaysia are already eager for 2PM’s concert in their respective countries, as inquiries for tickets are sky rocketing by day.

JYP Entertainment stated, The reactions from international fans for 2PM’s first Asia tour is beyond our expectations. The tour is continuing under heated passion…The members of 2PM are keeping top condition to give their fans the best performance they could give and will work hard to meet the expectations of their fans”.

2PM ‘Hands Up’ Asia Tour in Singapore

K-pop wave will be rising to the hottest frenzy as widely popular Korean boy band 2PM is set to debut its Asia Tour in the region, with Singapore as one of its performing stop!

The band’s first-ever full solo concert “2PM HANDS UP ASIA TOUR in SINGAPORE 2011” will be held on 19 November, 7pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium!
