Block B to appear on pilot episode of ‘Survival King’
Fans will be glad to see Block B back on TV through the upcoming pilot episode of ‘Survival King‘!
On March 1st, Zico, Jaehyo, and P.O. will be appearing on MBC Everyone’s brand new show program ‘Survival King’. The three members challenged the show’s first mission, “Survive without Light”, while being filmed by a hidden camera.
The mission was the pass by electric bars through the dark, although in truth, there were no electric bars as only sounds of electric currents made. Since the members of Block B had no idea, it is reported that the boys could not even take a step as their hands shook in fear.
After the mission, Zico was asked the question, “Without what would you have the hardest time surviving?”, to which he answered, “I don’t think I could survive without the love of my fans”, and expressed his love for the fans.
Zico expresses his thoughts on Block B’s song bans
Block B held an exciting comeback showcase for their new mini-album, “Welcome to the Block“. The showcase was comprised of performances and interviews, and it was during a Q&A session that member Zico addressed the issue of their banned songs.
To recap, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (MOGEF) had banned several songs from their debut digital album. Additionally, two songs from their comeback album, “LOL” and “Did You or Did You Not“, were also banned by both the MOGEF and KBS.
Leader Zico, who produced the album, explained, “It’s not that we don’t consider the regulations when we’re producing the songs, but I did often think that our freedom of expression was being interrupted. Still, I do acknowledge that as as a producer that creates songs meant for the public, it was a shortcoming of mine to not have paid more attention to the regulations.”
He continued, “There still is that feeling of disappointment, but I’m not going to remain stubborn blindly. I’ll still try to protect Block B’s color; it’s just that since our music is meant for the public, I will try to consider aspects to their tastes.”
Block B’s Zico is the first idol to be nominated for the ’2011 Hip Hop Playa Awards’
On January 11th, Korea’s largest hip hop music and music distribution portal, Hip Hop Playa, released their nominations for the ‘2011 Hip Hop Playa Awards‘.

Block B’s Zico is Kang Seung Yoon’s doppelganger? 100% alike! 110923
Block B’s Zico has been earning attention for his striking resemblance to actor Kang Seung Yoon.
On September 22nd, an online community board uploaded a post with the photo above under the title, “Kang Seung Yoon and Zico! Who is who?”
In the picture provided, Zico and Kang Seung Yoon not only have the same facial features, but also the same hair styles and blank expressions as they pose for the camera. Netizens remarked over how they felt like they were seeing twins on the same screen.
Netizens commented, “They really do look alike, I’d believe it if they were brothers,” and “They should take a picture together, I’m really curious now!”

[INTERVIEW] 10asia (ZICO)
My stage is Zico, and my real name is Woo Jiho. I’m Block B’s big-shot leader. I was born on September 14th, 1992 and studied music and the arts until my third year of high school in Japan. One year in Japan, and one year in Korea, I went through my third year of high school twice.
My older brother of two years is Co-Ed’s Wisdom Taewoon. I once trained with my hyung, but I didn’t want to debut in the same group as him. My resemblance to him? (Jaehyo: Taewoon is nice and you’re not!) Hyung has an easy-going personality whereas I’m a bit more tight with myself. I don’t leave myself alone so people get nervous when I’m being still.
I’ve been friends with Kyungie since elementary school. When we were little, I had no idea that we would be pursuing music together. He was a nerd that only ever studied while I was one of the cool kids, haha! (Kyung: He was just a kid that did art, I was just a kid that studied.)
