Only 3 members of Big Bang to perform at 2011 K-pop Super Concert

Taeyang, Seungri and T.O.P of Big Bang will be performing individually at the ‘2011 K-pop Super Concert‘ to take place at a beach resort in Busan’s Kwanganri on October 28th.

Some of the top K-pop stars including KARA, Kim Hyun Joong, and SHINee will be in attendance, and it is an event that the iconic Big Bang cannot be exempt from.

Their agency YG Entertainment stated on the 21st, “The three will be performing their own solo tracks as separate performances, instead of performing Big Bang songs as a group.

Big Bang had ceased all promotions as a collective group after Daesung‘s accident in May, and now with G-Dragon‘s recent marijuana scandal, it will become even harder to see all of them promoting their music together as Big Bang.

How Celebs Hide Their No Makeup Face

What is the secret to celebrities’ early morning airport fashion? We’re talking about the wee hours of the early morning.

Airport fashion has always been an important part of a celebrity’s image. When stars arrive at the airport, they present themselves in front of crowds of fans. Because fans are within close distance, it is important that stars keep their image in tip-top shape. Typically, celebrities will have little to no makeup, and some even go in sweatpants.

On Oct. 12, a number of popular idol groups arrived at Incheon Airport. SHINee, BEAST and 4minute returned from the New York Korean Festival. They arrived at the airport at 3:30AM. Because the time was very late, most stars went with a natural look.

However, 3:30AM doesn’t stop fans from coming. To hide their no makeup faces, stars have used a variety of methods, starting from sunglasses to masks.

Sandara shoots 2NE1′s ‘Go Away’ PV with Thunder’s cat, Dadoong

On October 21st, Sandara Park shared a photo that was taken on set of 2NE1′s Japanese MV for “Go Away“.

The fashionista wrote, Introducing Dadoong who has been selected as the ‘NG King’! *Clap! Clap! Clap!* kekeke.  I had to hold him still by force in order to shoot the video. I felt so bad for him that I let him go home without finishing the close-up scene… T_T  I saw the music video and [Dadong] didn’t turn out that pretty, but still, he appeared for 2-3 seconds!  Clap your hands for Dadoong~! ^_^

The photo set shows Dara having trouble keeping Dadoong still, who seems less than pleased about being there at all. Fans were more interested, however, in grabbing a sneak peek at 2NE1′s Japanese MV for “Go Away”. It certainly looks like they’re rocking a more colorful setting, and Dara is seen rocking yet another eclectic hairstyle.

Netizens commented, Dadoong is working hard~“, “I don’t like cats, but Dadoong looks cute keke, and Ah! I want to see your music video asap!

CNBLUE guerilla concert interrupted by Japanese police

The boys of CNBLUE who are slowly beginning to dominate in Japan were recently met with an unexpected and embarrassing situation. Japanese news source Sankei Sports reported on the boys’ recent performance that was suddenly halted by the local police.

CNBLUE held a secret live performance (guerilla concert) at Shinjuku Station Square in Tokyo on the 19th, and although the performance was unannounced with no promotions, a busy crowd of 7,000 still showed up to the concert. The number of fans exceeded CNBLUE’s own expectations, and it was the first time a new artist in Japan gathered a crowd that large for such an event.

However, they faced some issues not even five minutes into the show. Shortly after the boys finished performing their Japanese debut song ‘”In My Head“, the Shinjuku police arrived on the scene. The police determined that it was considered a safety hazard for so many people to be gathered in one small place without prior notice, and they were instructed to halt the show at once.

The boys who were planning to sing three songs total could only finish one before they were interrupted, and leader Jung Yong Hwa remarked, “The safety of our fans is most important. We will see you guys at Saturday’s show“, and waved to the audience. The rather organized and orderly show ironically became disordered and out of hand once the police arrived, as the fans began screaming to see more of CNBLUE.

YG reduces IPO size as marijuana use adds risk to Korea pop

[For those intimidated with the business terms, just check out the summary at the end of the post :)]

Oct. 19 (Bloomberg) — YG Entertainment Co., which manages the Korean boy band Big Bang, lowered the amount it’s seeking in its initial public offering after the band’s leader tested positive for marijuana use.

G-Dragon’s drug use could be a “constraint” for the band’s activities for a while, YG said in a revised prospectus submitted to Korea Exchange Inc. yesterday. Big Bang’s concerts may be delayed and revenue from commercials could fall, the company said. Big Bang and its members accounted for more than half of the company’s total sales in 2010, YG said.

YG is seeking as much as 35.9 billion won ($31 million), less than the 39.9 billion won it had earlier sought as Big Bang played to full stadiums in Japan and fans flocked to female quartet 2NE1, which is also managed by the company. Shares of listed rival S.M. Entertainment Co. more than tripled this year, even as the benchmark Kospi Index slumped 9.5 percent.
